Part #: MBus_WTH_LCD_ETH_PoE
This Modbus-TCP enabled temperature & humidity sensor is designed to be mounted on a wall or a surface, and it can be powered by PoE, meaning that a single ethernet cable can now handle power and ModbusTCP communication. The device uses Active PoE voltage of 48V, draws less than 4w, and is supported by Standard PoE (IEEE 802.3af).
NOTE: you have the option to power this sensor over ethernet by using a PoE switch OR you can use an external power supply to power the sensor using the 2-pin power plug on the PCB, but you should NOT do both or you will damage the sensor. If you choose to power the sensor over ethernet using a PoE switch then do NOT also apply power to the 2-pin power plug with an external power supply or you will damage the sensor.
The device has a backlit LCD display and can communicate with a supervisory control system on an Ethernet TCP/IP network using the Modbus-TCP protocol and/or on an RS485 network using the Modbus-RTU protocol.
The sensor also has two 0-5V / 0-10V / 4-20mA analog outputs that can provide a signal equivalent to the current temperature & humidity values. This enables the sensor to be read by simple analog inputs and/or allows the sensor to be used as a dual transducer to directly control two actuators or valves based on temperature or humidity.
